Empowering Moments: Charity Event Photography for Friends with Dignity at The Gabba, Brisbane

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of photographing a powerful and inspiring charity event hosted by Friends with Dignity, an Australian not-for-profit organisation supporting survivors of domestic and family violence.

Held in the beautiful Cricketers Club Members Area at The Gabba in Brisbane, the event brought together community leaders, volunteers, donors, and supporters — all united to raise awareness and funds for a deeply important cause.

As a professional event photographer based on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, I specialise in capturing the heart of events — from charity galas to corporate functions and everything in between. This night was no exception: full of warmth, meaning, and connection.

Who Are Friends With Dignity?

Friends with Dignity is a volunteer-driven charity that provides practical support to individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence. Their programs, including the Sanctuary Program, Urgent Requests, and Little Friends Scholarships, offer dignity and hope to those starting over.

Photographing at The Gabba – An Iconic Brisbane Venue

The Gabba’s Cricketers Club is one of Brisbane’s most iconic and elegant event spaces. With sweeping views over the stadium, warm lighting, and a relaxed but refined atmosphere, it provided a beautiful backdrop for the evening.

As an experienced Brisbane event photographer and Gold Coast corporate photographer, I used a blend of off-camera flash, natural light, and fast candid shooting techniques to capture the vibe of the night without intruding on it.
